Integration of the Armenian communities in Greater Syria during the mamluk era.

I want to analyze the social and political situation of the Armenian communities in Syria under mamluk era (mid 13th- end 14th centuries). I will confront the Arabic Islamic and Christian sources to the Armenian and also syriac sources.
I will study migrations and settlement of the Armenian populations in Syria. Then I will question how they insert in the Syrian Muslim society. Once settled in Syria, these populations were considered as “dhimmī”, like the other Christian or Jewish communities. At last, I will study the connections between the Armenian populations, who settled in Syria, and the political power (how to grow in the administrative organization and in the army, intellectual and technical contributions,…).
